The Path Ahead

Can’t believe time has passed so quickly. We are now first week into 2009. 51 more weeks to go.

Challenging times ahead especially in the current economic situation but I’m sure the world is resilient enough to recover itself. It is only a matter of time. The sooner the better of course.

Flying back to Sydney this evening. Feeling a little mixed right now. However what is certain will be the fact I am looking forward to coming back to Singapore for good. This is something that I am very sure about.

I am also looking forward to our flat purchase (very big ticket item i know). I pray that everything goes well. Once that is settled, it would mean that we are committing ourselves for next 20 or so years servicing the mortgage. While it may seem like rather pricey at the moment, i guess it is more of us liking the place that influence our decision to buy. Many a times, I feel that we talk so much to the extent it clouds our mind and confuse us even more… to the extent that we eventually hold back and not take that step forward. I remember the saying, “Buy a property and wait instead of wait and buy a property”. Because you will never know when it will ever be the ‘right’ time.

2008 has been a challenging year; having relocate to a new country and also to adapt ourselves in a new work environment. There were highs and lows. However, I am really thankful to have missy j around. Without her support and encouragement, I would not have made it through to where we are now. It brought us closer and strengthen our relationship because when you are on your own. You only have each other to depend on, to look out for. Thank god for that. Even though I wish that life would be a bed of roses, I feel that the down times were god’s tests in making us a better person and bringing us together even closer in achieving a better life.

2009 will be an interesting one. I’m sure there would be new changes coming our way in both work and our lives. However I believe we are mentally prepared and ready to take on whatever is heading our way.
