Last Day of 2007

Once again, we have gone through 12 months of 2007 and it has finally come down to this day. The final day of 2007. What can I say? This year is a fulfilling one for me as I have experienced so many:

  1. Joined RCIA in the 1st Qtr of the year. Unfortunately, due to my moving to Sydney, I had to discontinue. Was a little disappointed actually. However, will try to find out how I can continue this journey when I’m over there.
  2. Being apart from missy j for 2 whole months. It was truly a test for our relationships where we missed each other big time. So much so, I made a surprise visit to her in Hong Kong which made her teared with joy. It was priceless.
  3. We celebrated our 2 years anniversary @ Red Dot Museum. Dined at the famous La Papillon French restaurant where we had a wonderful sumptuous 8 course french gourmet. Absolutely heavenly. Began my love for french food after that.
  4. I went to Hong Kong for the very first time in my life. What more can I say for this historical moment. heh
  5. We went on a 2 weeks plus holiday in Melbourne and Sydney for the time time together. It was significant for the 2 of us as we used to have different memories of the place. However, with this trip, it ironed out all the differences and paved the path ahead for us. It also prompted me the idea of relocating there to work.
  6. I had my first waxing experience. Friggin painful I tell you but it was all worth it. ;)
  7. I had the opportunity to be part of a photoshoot for an IDA project. It was quite fun actually to know how it is like to be a model being in a photoshoot. Met some really wonderful nice people that we now become friends.
  8. I was the given the role of the team lead for a global engagement. It was a big step for me but I’m glad I’m given the opportunity to take on this role. It was a challenge that I had to step up and overall, it was a good experience and there was so much I learnt from it.
  9. I started looking out for other opportunities again. Seriously as compared to previous year, I was just on a look out and nothing more. But this time round, actions were taken.
  10. I had my first telephone interview from overseas. It was a strange experience to be doing it via the phone but I guess it served its purpose.
  11. I had my first video conference interview. Never done it before so this was also a first for me.
  12. We applied for a flat. Even though we got a queue for the flats, the choice of units we wanted were no longer available and sad to say, we gave up and now on a lookout for better flats to come our way.
  13. I got my first PDA phone – Samsung SGH-i600h. Next, would be a Blackberry!
  14. My first photoshoot assignment for Flag magazine. Courtesy of missy j who brought me along to Piana’s gig @ the Substation. Photos were published and credits given to me! How happy I was! =)
  15. I bought a proposal ring! It was something that I know I wanted to do and I am glad that I got it done. Because that means I know that missy j is the one for me. ;)
  16. I got a job offer to Sydney!!! It was like a dream come true and an opportunity too good to be missed. It was not an easy decision but with the support from family, and loved one. It became clear to me that this was one of the things I want to do in my life. To experience working overseas.
  17. I bought my first suit because it is one of the requirements in my new job! Next, I would tailor my own suit.
  18. We saw Bebel Gilberto live in concert @ the esplanade. Her voice was beautiful and she has wonderful showmanship too.
  19. We had the most expensive japanese sashimi and ponzu (Seasonal fish sperm!! but quite tasty actually. Wonder if it is high in protein too!) Met new friends there and drank the most tasting sake ever courtesy of a friend whom we made @ Sushi Yoshida. Very random I know.
  20. First hair cut by missy j. I became her guinea pig for the first time! Quite daunting experience but surprisingly it turned out quite well.
  21. I learnt tai-chi. Not all the 108 moves but the foundations that are fundamental for all the moves. At least I get to appreciate this art which can be very deadly. Not just for the old folks I realised!
  22. I went on MTV for a Sony Ericssion contest, hosted by Denise Keller. It was riot filming it and I totally sucked because I couldn’t identify more than half the singers and songs. Hahaha… but all in all, it was great fun working up close and personal with Denise Keller.
  23. The most significant event, would be me proposing to missy j. It was a simple proposal but has a big change in my lives. I was actually a little nervous and stumbled on my words a little. My heart was racing but I am happy to hear that missy j accepted it. It was all that matters to me. :) I am looking forward to this new chapter in both our lives!
  24. We e-filed our marriage and had to make a trip to ROM for the first time to validate of intention of marriage! =)

All I can say is that, 2007 has been an amazing and eventful year, both in my personal life and my career path. Everything is falling into place as how I imagined. I have the love of my life and a new working environment overseas. A new position with a wealth management company. Everything seems more exciting than before and I believe 2008 will be an interesting one. I can’t wait to see how the events will be coming up but I am sure I will make the best of it plus my solemnisation ceremony will kickstart 2008 into a wonderful year!!

In the meanwhile, I hope that everyone have a smashing good time tonight and welcome the new year in the most spectacular way!
