You Know I Know
I know I can do it. I know I can do it.
Starving as hell now. Bah.
It’s time to head home.

Missy j met my cousins and their family last night. It was almost like a meeting that was highly anticipated. They were looking forward to meeting her and mentioned her several times to me when they would get to see her in person. (They have seen her pictures in my camera but that was not enough).
missy j almost couldn’t make it coz she had an exam the next day and she was not feeling well but she eventually came over and I was really happy and appreciate her taking time off to see them.
My cousins, uncle and aunt love her to bits. So candid and excited when they saw her. Said she can be a model or superstar.
heee.. We had loads of photos taken and even though it was just a short while missy j was there… you could feel the light hearted and cheery atmosphere in the air.
They talked about so much that even after she left, they were still asking me questions about her and they even suggested that I should bring her to Taiwan the next time. (Maybe I will).
What an evening it was and no words could describe how I felt when I saw my family and relatives warming up to her. It’s a good sign and I am happy how things are turning out.
I need new pants, clothes and shoes for work. I am running out of stuff to wear.
Sometimes.. maybe sometimes ignorance is bliss.
Cousins, aunt and uncle came down from Taiwan. Well not exactly directly but from M’sia after their tour and stay there. Was excited to see them and it’s been like 1.5 years since they last came to our sunny island shores. It was good to see them and also a chance for me to practice my mandarin which is like in bits and pieces all over the places.
I was so tired from yesterday’s events, the golf, the arrival of my relatives, attending to them, running to missy j’s place for a while. I knocked out at her place coz I was sooo tired. After having a “lou hei’ session with her family, and having a chat with her parents, I left for my “2nd dinner” with my relatives… what a feast it was and I swear I was just that close to bursting my pants. Fat fat fat….
It was a good dinner. We took some pictures, had laughs and I think it was nice everyone got together like that. In fact, I was quite tired from last night’s dinner that I didn’t want to head down to Zouk. It’s beeen a llllllllooonnnnng time since I went there. The only reason I was going, was to catch up with the guys whom I have not seen for almost half a yea. One of them gotten a new car, not his but it’s the new Civic!! ahh.. I like. Love the dashboard and all. Would buy it if I had the $$$.
It was great meeting up with them. Same old blokes. It was a tad strange initially when it was just the 3 of us. but it was basically guy-talk and stuff. They are still the same with their current jobs and stuff. It’s good that they are progressing too in terms of their career. One is now the team lead while the other has a change of job scope after a promotion. Everything seems good.
Went back around 3 after some supper at River Valley and I wasss seriously exhausted. My body feels sore once again after the golfing session.
It’s golfing time!!! woohoo.. Can’t imagine I actually woke up so early to go to the range.
Effort effort.
First two days of Chinese New Year was spent in M’sia. Visiting relatives, travelling from one place to another. It was quite tiring actually.
Basically the routine was like this:
While on the roads, sightsee, sleep, eat, read, sleep, then reached relative’s place, well-wishes, chat, eat, drink, chat some more, eat somemore. next, head to next relative’s place and the whole cycle begins. It went on the whole day and by the time, I reached back to rest was 11pm last night and I was exhausted but only managed to sleep at 1am.
Next day, visited one of the famous streets in Malacca, had breakfast, then went to pray at a temple for blessings in career, love and health for myself and everyone in the family. Bought some famous pineapple tarts and then went back for more visiting. I think I am packing in all the pounds after all the new year goodies and rich food I have eaten.
Phew, what a trip it was. Managed to see my Uncle’s family coming to town as well and they will be heading to Singapore this coming weekend too before flying back to Taiwan.
All in all,I thought it was a good trip and it was good I made the effort to talk to them. Usually, I’m not so pro-active in chatting but now, I took the initiative.
However, i feel that there are still room for improvements. It was a good opportunity to see them once again after all this time.. the last time I saw them was like 4 years!?!so many of them have grown, esp the little ones and some of my cousins are married with kids!
Of course, the question I know for sure coming my way was, “When are you getting married?”
It was interesting to see that everyone is concerned about me getting married coz I’m not getting ‘any younger’ according to them. True. true. and yes, it would be nice to settle down too. but first, I need to propose!
If there is one thing I realised after what happened last night, It is the absolute certainty who I want to spend the rest of my life with.
It was like one of the moments that became so much clearer than ever before.
It was the inner voice in my head that told me, “Yes, she’s the one”.
It’s cloudy this morning and it is the eve of Chinese New Year Eve. Hmm.. Make sense?
Supposedly half day at work too. but depending on the amount of work, I have to do, I aim to leave by 2 today. Can’t wait to go back and ‘nua’ (slack off on my bed) Still feel like I have not gotten enough sleep.
Sunday will be making a trip up to Malaysia after a few years absence. Things have changed quite a bit according to my mom. Oh well, I guess I will have to prepare for the same old questions poised by my relatives, “When are you getting married?” The millon dollar question that is on every one’s TOP 10 list of Chinese New Year Questions.
In a way, I think it will be good to catch up and see how is everyone doing so far, especially the lives of my cousins. Have not seen them for ages. Heard some of their kids have grown. The last time I heard, they were still babies!?!?!
I guess that’s the interesting thing about Chinese New Year, everyone gets together, have a chat, a few peanuts, bah kwa and a jolly good time. It’s going to be noisy.
