Last Day of 2006
I can’t believe how fast time passed. I know I said it almost year in year out but hey that is true, isn’t it?
This year has been truly a wonderful year for me, both work and personal life.. So many things changed in my life and so many things done.
- Went for the most number of weddings in one year. So much that I lost count!
- We are together for a year and still counting. She has made a big difference in my life. We did so many things together and we are still very crazy about each other. We also went for our first holiday in Bangkok & Koh Samui. A very exciting one full of adventure. Met the most kind hearted soul lady, met the meanest woman ever. Got my first brush with the law overseas. (Hopefully it will be the last!)
- Went for a wedding event together with missy j. (Usually I attend them on my own)
- Went for a bridal fair @ Traders Hotel. First in my life! (I got to experienced what it is like to take that step forward and the preparation beforehand. Which is ALOT of work!)
- Economy is doing well, that the firm is rewarding us with another pay revision. (Can save more!)
- Work demands are getting heavier. (Part and parcel as you progress up the corporate ladder. I forsee more challenges coming my way)
- Saw a number of new faces in the department as well as old ones leaving.
- Picked up golf and loving it though the opportunity to play is limited.
- Sold my personal HP laptop of 3yrs away. It was my first laptop that went to Australia and back with me. (But of course, with that, I’m looking forward to a new iMac in the near future. heh)
- Moved to a new office environment – One Raffles Quay. It was actually sort of predicted in one of the astrology books that I read at missy j’s place. That was so true!
- Learnt about the world of media from missy j. (Very fascinating indeed)
- I tried roller blading and salsa for the first time.
- Went to GV Gold Class for the first time @ Vivocity. (It was quite a luxurious and pampering experience)
- Took my first certification exam in one of the most troubled periods of my emotional life and flunked it. Attempted it again in December. Hope to pass. (Keeps my fingers crossed)
- Completed Standard Chartered – 10Km run with an improved timing.
- I saw Mogwai and Kings of Convenience LIVE at esplanade. WOooHoo!
- Did my first photoshoot with redchopsticks. It was quite a fun experience!
- I got to experienced the heaviest rainfall in Singapore history. Haha.
2006 has been great to me. I hope both my personal and work life continue to do so in the new year. It would be great to surpass it and bring them both to another level.
One thing I should be concerned is my health. I realised I am rather prone to getting falling sick this year which is not a good sign. I should learn to take care of it more. I think many of us often take it for granted that “everything’s fine”.
Financially wise, I think it is a constant agenda to be money smart. Know what is your needs and wants. Most of us often end up asset rich but cash poor. I prefer to be cash-rich and that brings me to making sound financial investments and habits. I think I need a pretty good job in saving though not at an exponential rate but I can see it growing. I hope to save more in the coming new year though. Something which needs to be thoroughly planned out. I have never been so concious about money before in my past 20+ years and now I realised the importance of it. One thing which I regret, I never started on the right track. I was saving but I did it the wrong way but anyway, that was lesson learnt and hopefully I am moving the right way this time round.
Goodbye 2006. Hello 2007. The year’s been great and it is one of my best years ever. May 2007 be an exciting one too!
Cheers to all. Happy New Year.

It’s Xmas Eve today. The weather continues to stay wet and grey. Hopefully it has not dampen anyone’s spirits.
I got Borders’ voucher as a gift! Something which I can use to buy more books!
