Last Day of 2006 Sunday, Dec 31 2006

I can’t believe how fast time passed. I know I said it almost year in year out but hey that is true, isn’t it?

This year has been truly a wonderful year for me, both work and personal life.. So many things changed in my life and so many things done.

  1. Went for the most number of weddings in one year. So much that I lost count!
  2. We are together for a year and still counting. She has made a big difference in my life. We did so many things together and we are still very crazy about each other. We also went for our first holiday in Bangkok & Koh Samui. A very exciting one full of adventure. Met the most kind hearted soul lady, met the meanest woman ever. Got my first brush with the law overseas. (Hopefully it will be the last!)
  3. Went for a wedding event together with missy j. (Usually I attend them on my own)
  4. Went for a bridal fair @ Traders Hotel. First in my life! (I got to experienced what it is like to take that step forward and the preparation beforehand. Which is ALOT of work!)
  5. Economy is doing well, that the firm is rewarding us with another pay revision. (Can save more!)
  6. Work demands are getting heavier. (Part and parcel as you progress up the corporate ladder. I forsee more challenges coming my way)
  7. Saw a number of new faces in the department as well as old ones leaving.
  8. Picked up golf and loving it though the opportunity to play is limited.
  9. Sold my personal HP laptop of 3yrs away. It was my first laptop that went to Australia and back with me. (But of course, with that, I’m looking forward to a new iMac in the near future. heh)
  10. Moved to a new office environment - One Raffles Quay. It was actually sort of predicted in one of the astrology books that I read at missy j’s place. That was so true!
  11. Learnt about the world of media from missy j. (Very fascinating indeed)
  12. I tried roller blading and salsa for the first time.
  13. Went to GV Gold Class for the first time @ Vivocity. (It was quite a luxurious and pampering experience)
  14. Took my first certification exam in one of the most troubled periods of my emotional life and flunked it. Attempted it again in December. Hope to pass. (Keeps my fingers crossed)
  15. Completed Standard Chartered - 10Km run with an improved timing.
  16. I saw Mogwai and Kings of Convenience LIVE at esplanade. WOooHoo!
  17. Did my first photoshoot with redchopsticks. It was quite a fun experience!
  18. I got to experienced the heaviest rainfall in Singapore history. Haha.

2006 has been great to me. I hope both my personal and work life continue to do so in the new year. It would be great to surpass it and bring them both to another level. :) One thing I should be concerned is my health. I realised I am rather prone to getting falling sick this year which is not a good sign. I should learn to take care of it more. I think many of us often take it for granted that “everything’s fine”.

Financially wise, I think it is a constant agenda to be money smart. Know what is your needs and wants. Most of us often end up asset rich but cash poor. I prefer to be cash-rich and that brings me to making sound financial investments and habits. I think I need a pretty good job in saving though not at an exponential rate but I can see it growing. I hope to save more in the coming new year though. Something which needs to be thoroughly planned out. I have never been so concious about money before in my past 20+ years and now I realised the importance of it. One thing which I regret, I never started on the right track. I was saving but I did it the wrong way but anyway, that was lesson learnt and hopefully I am moving the right way this time round.

Goodbye 2006. Hello 2007. The year’s been great and it is one of my best years ever. May 2007 be an exciting one too!

Cheers to all. Happy New Year.

Just for you Friday, Dec 29 2006

Happy birthday, darling.

Wreck Thursday, Dec 28 2006

I feel like a wreck with my current physical state. The flu bug is not going away and the cough is persistent (not as bad as the one I got a few months ago). Why does this have to happen at this time of the year?

Staggering On Wednesday, Dec 27 2006

Sometimes you seat there. You wonder, “Does she knows that I am waiting?” Has it become too much that I should step back and take a good look at myself?

Will she know?

Question which I have no answer.

It’s post x’mas. Here I am, in a stuffy room on the 13th flr. With a scenic view of the city skyline. I am exhausted. I am battered and worn out. Why am I here? work. for a better tomorrow. for her. for my career.

It is tough. I asked myself why am I doing this when everyone else is in still in a x’mas mood. Everyone around me seems contented but for me? I am just one of those guys with tons of work on my mind. That aside, I am not recovering totally from the flu. With this kind of ‘abuse’… it is no surprise I am still in this state of indifference.

Why am I still here?

X'mas giftIt’s Xmas Eve today. The weather continues to stay wet and grey. Hopefully it has not dampen anyone’s spirits.

X’mas party on Friday went smoothly as planned. Everyone was having fun, laughing and in a cheery mood. There was plenty of food and wine to go around. Fun and games where vouchers were given away. There was also an XBOX setup for entertainment too. :) During the gift exchange session, everyone had a chance to take photo with Santa (courtesy of our colleague who dressed up as one). SantaI got Borders’ voucher as a gift! Something which I can use to buy more books!

This is the final week of year 2006. What is going to be in store us? Well, one thing’s for sure, things gonna get better. :)

Merry X’mas to all. Wherever you are.

Home Alone Thursday, Dec 21 2006

So I became a fallen casualty. I am stuck at home in this rainy. Taking a day’s MC. And what’s worse is that, my laptop is locked in Safe Mode. Was trying to remove the malware and in the end, I realised I do not have the access rights to Safe Mode thus there is absolutely no way to revert back to Normal mode unless I get IT dept’s help. DOh. Not funny. So much for wanting to do some work. Bah.

My nose is stucked and last night was a nightmare trying to sleep. Head was pounding. Woke up in the middle, ransacked the entire kitchen cabinets for any medicine available. It was THAT BAD alright. Saw flu medicine from last time, popped it together with a panadol. Worked like a charm after that.  Woke up feeling really groggy. Was thinking to myself if I should head to work. Decided against it. Saw a doc. Got my MC and now resting at home.

Tomorrow is the X’mas Party and I hope everything will fall into place. I am sort of fronting it. I mean, it’s not so much of a big deal until I was told to sort of become the emcee for the event. Yikes. Not Easy but not difficult either.

I am feeling drowsy… and I have yet finished my X’mas shopping! Dear oh dear me.

It’s raining this morning. How I wish the temperature stays like this without the wetness.

Stop Itching, You Throat! Wednesday, Dec 20 2006

My throat feels scratchy and it hurts. Damn. This is not funny. X’mas is just round the corner and this is the last thing I want something like that to happen. Even my nose is acting up. Started sneezing non-stop and nose started to leaak. Crap. X’mas party this Friday. I can’t afford to fall sick.
