The Truth Is Out There (Really!?)

So it is true. There will be a pay revision firm wide but it is not made known how much our wage will be adjusted. Of course, this is good news to us but somehow, it doesn’t like excite me that much. Strange. However, I am thinking how that will help when the GST is going up in a few months time. Does that means that even though your wages go up, your expenditure goes up too and ultimately, whatever increment you receive, is simply to offset the 2% taxes? Hmmm….

And it also dawns upon me that all of a sudden, everyone is getting a pay revision and seriously, this is too much of a concidence. Is this part of some ‘consipracy theory’?

2006 Airline of the Year: British Airways, 2nd: Qantas, 3rd: Cathay Pacific…

….Continuing its upward rise in the Award rankings, Qatar Airways takes 6th position (up from 8th in 2005), ahead of Singapore Airlines (SIA) in 7th – SIA being a previous Airline of the Year winner in 2004. Qatar Airways strong performance extended to winning the Awards for Best Airline Middle East, together with achieving 2nd place worldwide in the Best Cabin Staff category.

…Thai Airways International has been named as the winner 2006 World Airline Award for the Best Cabin Staff – up from 2nd position in 2005. Qatar Airways continues its upward move, taking 2nd place in the Best Cabin Staff awards, an improvement of 3 positions on its year-earlier ranking. Malaysia Airlines maintains its 2005 ranking as 3rd in the world, with ANA another climber into the top 5 worldwide (from 9th in 2005) – Singapore Airlines in a creditable 5th position…

…”Second-placed Singapore Airlines was similarly well rated for inflight entertainment and catering, although more confined economy seats and an apparent decline in previously very high cabin staff service standards were constituent factors in missing out on top spot for 2006.”…

So why are we still paying a premium when the service standards of SIA has dropped? Even Malaysian Airlines beat SIA for the Best Economy Class.

What is your Agenda

Daylight is when the day begins.

I certainly never come across a working environment where often the topic of discussion  begins with, “When are you leaving?” or “Why is/are there people/he/she leaving?”. Isn’t that odd to be discussing this among fellow colleagues? but at the same time, it can be rather interesting conversation topic on its own.

Minutes

Been really busy with work lately. So much to do. So little time. There is a paintball event coming up next week organised by our department to mark the ‘merger’ of a few departments.

On the side note:

I’m hooked onto the game, “The Movie” which missy j bought yesterday. Was tempted to get a game myself but in the end, I decided not too. Instead, I went over to her place and played the game for a while, made a few movies and it got me hooked.

This guy takes amazing wedding photography. His pictures capture the moments of a wedding so well and brings out the love and bliss between the couple. They are beautiful and very well composed. Seriously, I would consider his service when I get married. Check it out.

One Way Ticket

This week is going to be a one loonnnnnngg week.  At least, the only good thing to look forward to is, pay day. Other than that, everything else is pretty much mundane and routine.

Music Sets the Mood

It’s intersting lately, I’m thinking of what songs/music to use for a wedding event. Hmm..

She’s the Only One

So here I am, listening to Bread… soothing and easy going melodies from the 60s-70s (Got the whole collection from missy j) while missy j is out at zouk, where Chicks on Speed is performing right now. It is really ironic coz I am a Heineken Green Room member, yet I have not attended a single event before. Almost went for Dj Shadow’s gig but it was horrendously packed, hence, it was just not meant to be.

I don’t know what else to do. Most probably, after this, will be reading a book. *staring at the pile of books staring back at me* It’s funny here you are, yet your heart and mind is not physically here with you. It wanders and you’ll be thinking what your other half is doing right now. I wonder how she’s doing now? I really wonder.

GST > 5% to increase by another 2% = 7% next year. My thought = @#$%^&*!!

Eating In

For the sake of saving up more, I have resolved to having dinner @ home the whole of this week.
